My Shitty (But secretly awesome) Cross Ride today
I just rode 15.9 kilometers! Check it out on Strava: http://app.strava.com/activities/4504389 It sucked.
So, I planned this fun little 2 hour cross ride at about 11 the night before, so sort of spur of the moment. And I realized, as I was planning it, that my cross tires were not on the cross wheels. But whatever, that takes 10 minutes, I’ll do it before I go to bed. What I...

What's the word for...?
Finding power where it’s least expected?
Or finding a daunting task much easier than expected?
Better yet, finding the way back to the top shorter and easier than it appeared on the way down?
I’d like to think this phenomena in cycling is a good lesson to carry over into life.
I needed a 12.5 mile ride yesterday, as per my “training plan”, but I’d missed a couple...

Piezo Electric Magnetized Bicycle Lights
Piezo Electricity is energy generated by movement, or vibrations. It’s been used to power wingtip lights on large and small aircraft for decades. K2 skis used it to dampen vibration in their skis at the end of the ’90s. I can’t help but wonder if it would be applicable to powering bicycle lights, especially now that LEDs are so efficient at using power.
Why not put magnets...
